FAQ
-
What is ADHD coaching and how can it help me?
ADHD coaching is a specialized, collaborative partnership that helps you develop practical strategies and skills to manage the specific challenges of ADHD. We work together to create personalized systems for areas like time management, organization, goal setting, and emotional regulation, so you can improve your daily functioning and reach your personal and professional goals.
-
Is ADHD coaching a substitute for therapy or medication?
No, ADHD coaching is not a replacement for therapy or medication. It's a complementary support. While a therapist often focuses on past emotional issues, an ADHD coach is forward-focused and action-oriented. I help you build new habits and skills to improve your daily life. We're here to support you in practical ways, not to treat mental health conditions.
-
What is the difference between an ADHD coach and a life coach?
While both help you achieve your goals, an ADHD coach has specialized training and a deep understanding of the neurobiology of ADHD. This expertise allows us to create strategies that work with your unique brain wiring, not against it. We understand common ADHD-specific issues like time blindness, hyperfocus, and impulsivity, and we're equipped to help you navigate them effectively.
-
How long does ADHD coaching take?
The duration of coaching varies for each person. My work is highly individualized, and the timeline depends on your specific goals and commitment. Many clients find a few months of focused work is enough to develop a strong foundation, while others prefer ongoing support for long-term growth.

I work with clients across Ireland including Dublin, Cork and Galway as I am from Dublin. I am currently based in Sheffield, UK. As all our sessions are conducted remotely, you can access my support from anywhere with an internet connection. This makes it convenient for clients in major cities and more remote areas alike.

Can you provide ADHD coaching for students at the University of Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam University?
My ADHD coaching services are available for students Sheffield. In a discovery call, we may discuss Disability Student Allowance (DSA) which can help finance coaching support for students.

What are the costs for an ADHD coach in Ireland and Sheffield?
The cost of coaching varies depending on your individual needs. During our initial consultation, we can discuss your goals and explore financial options such as one-to-one coaching or group coaching programs.
For clients in the UK, it is worth exploring government funding to help cover the costs. You may be eligible for a grant through Access to Work or Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).
Access to Work: This is a government grant that provides financial support for people with a disability or health condition, including ADHD, to help them start or stay in work. It can fund practical support, including ADHD coaching. The grant doesn't need to be repaid.
Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA): This is a non-repayable grant for students in higher education with a disability or long-term health condition, such as ADHD, that affects their ability to study. The DSA can help cover costs for non-medical helpers, such as a specialist mentor or study skills tutor, who can provide coaching for ADHD-related study challenges.
I can help guide you on how to start the process for both of these schemes, as they can be an excellent way to make coaching accessible.
