Understanding AUDHD (Part 2)

This comprehensive three-part series explores the complex and often contradictory intersection of Autism and ADHD (AuDHD). While often treated separately, the co-occurrence of these neurotypes creates a unique "internal tug-of-war"—such as the Autistic need for routine clashing with the ADHD need for novelty. This series moves beyond basic definitions to explore the distinct neurobiology.

What You Will Learn:

  • Analyze the Intersection: Participants will be able to distinguish between overlapping traits and conflicting needs within the AuDHD phenotype (e.g., social desire vs. social exhaustion).

  • Understand the "Clash": Learners will identify specific scenarios where ADHD impulsivity and Autistic rigidity conflict, and how this impacts executive function and emotional regulation.

  • Develop Integrated Support: Attendees will learn to design support plans that do not prioritize one diagnosis at the expense of the other (e.g., creating "structured flexibility").
