Supporting and Understanding ADHD Behaviour

This session will look in detail at what is ADHD, how it impacts our students and how it often manifests in ‘bad behaviour.’ Often this mad behavior is as a direct result of dysregulation, overstimulation or both. I will then explore some easy to implement strategies you can implement to support students with ADHD and provide an environment for them to thrive.

Learning Objectives

  • Define Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and understand its core impact on student learning and behavior in the classroom.

  • Recognize how dysregulation and overstimulation frequently manifest as behaviors often labeled as 'bad behavior' in students with ADHD.

  • Apply easy-to-implement strategies to effectively support students with ADHD and create a structured environment where they can thrive.
